Where do I start, after a heavy defeat in midweek at Newmarket Harwich were playing fourth place Kirkley  before today's game. Tony gave a hard team talk to the players before kick off, Tony is firm but fair and told them all to get out there and give a good performance of themselves.

 Only one change was made for today's game, Lee Barrett coming in for the injured Carmichael. Harwich kicked off against a strong wind and it was end to end football, Kirkley come close to scoring in the first ten minutes but Harwich pushed forward with Defeo  causing problems with some powerful runs and after 25 minutes a surging run  allowed Scott Page to put the ball in the net.

Kirkley drew level two minutes later, from a left wing corner, Nathan Stone headed a powerful header in the back of the net it was still end to end just before interval Kirkley full back denied Lee Barrett a second goal.

 Half time talk Tony simply told the lads to carry on where they had left from the first half. Second half Harwich were well on top of this game causing Kirkley to make a couple of substitutions which for a time lifted them but Harwich played some great football and got back into the game. With five minutes remaining Jimmy Chatters received the ball on the left and ran a few yards before letting fly one hell of a shot that curled in to far corner of the Kirkley net to give Harwich a two one lead.

It was a great result for Harwich, you would not think it was the same team playing today after that midweek game it was a great team performance well done lads lets see if keep playing like this for the rest of the season. Man of the match for me was Scott Page for all his hard work.
