HARWICH & PARKESTON U18s 3
BRAINTREE U18s 1
21 February 2008
Another 3 points picked up by Phil Harrison & Mick Wildney's young chargers which leaves them well placed at the top end of the table, Harwich went behind early doors after sloppy play throughout the Harwich side, Daryl Jonhson fired Harwich level shortly afterwards and the score remained the same throughout the 1 st Half. The prolific forward Dom Warren came off injured after 20 minutes after turn badly on his ankle, the 1st half performance was workman like but not as the managers required, but to there credit Braintree came over fired up looking to press for the top spot in the league.
The second half performance improved, with the midfield pairing Luke Good & Phil Taylor becoming more dominant, Dan Harrison moving from right back into right side midfield done well, this difference came when Ollie Mann dropped into a attacking midfield position and then ran riot. Credit to the Harwich back four of Lee Sharp, Daryl Johnson Lee P and Jordan Knight without doubt the best back four in the Ridgeon's youth league, playing in front of Harwich keeper Elliot Harrison. Harwich finally took the lead in the 60th min, Phil Taylor finding time and space in the box and finished well, Ollie Mann once again working his socks off for the team, and got his rewards late on after Andy Hammett was fouled in the box, Ollie stepped up to score from the spot. Final score 3-1
Congratulations to 5 of the under 18's who have been selected to represent Essex under 18's in the last game of the season away to Bedfordshire. Well done Reece Harris, Luke Good, Elliot Harrison, Lee Peacock and Sam Eldridge
