HARWICH & PARKESTON  1
WISBECH TOWN  2
26th April 2008

Harwich started brightly, despite it being their fourth game in eight days and wasted no time in taking the lead in the 7th minute after a mix-up in the Wisbech defence allowed Steve Townes to fire an unstoppable shot, from 12 yards past Horton. Wisbech were slow to get themselves into the game but finally drew level in the 26th minute with their first opportunity; McManus cleverly beating the Harwich offside to slot the ball under Wootten. Both teams failed to take advantage of some golden chances before half-time, Billy Smith snatched his shot straight in to the arms of Wootten and Calver watched his trade mark penalty well saved by Horton after Page had been felled in the area.

Harwich continued to probe away at the visitors’ goal in the second-half, Defeo’s curling strike, slapping the inside of the upright, but it was Wisbech that punished their hosts, in a half where possession was given away cheaply, McManus scoring from an angled freekick beating Wootten at the near post. A competitive final few minutes saw both teams play attacking football though with no further goals it's Wisbech that continue to climb the table as the season draws to an end.
