HARWICH & PARKESTON U18s 4
F.C CLACTON U18s 2
1st November 2007
Harwich came out worthy winners in the 1st local derby at under 18's this season. Harwich made changes with Reece Harris and Lee Sharp missing through injury, Lee Peacock returned at centre half and Andy Hammett on the left hand side, Harwich took a two goal lead through Ollie Mann and Dom Warren, and looked to be in control but after two terrible errors down Harwich's right hand side resulted in Clacton scoring two quick goals just before half time to leave Harwich hanging on the ropes looking for the half time whistle. The half time team talk was precise and honest some players where simply not giving enough and had to improve and quickly.
The second half was a much more pleasant on the eye for the Harwich supporters, with Luke Good moving on to the right hand side of midfield and Luke Randall into the middle alongside Phil Taylor, Harwich's third goal came direct from a cleverly taken free kick drilled in hard and low by Phil Taylor eluding everyone to nestle in the corner of the net, Harwich continued to dominate applying pressure on the Clacton back four who to there credit played a high defensive line catching out the Harwich front two on way to many occasions catching them offside every time, Harwich's last goal was a peach after moving the ball out of defence the ball came to Luke Good on the right hand side who delivered a pin point ball 35 yards over the Clacton back line to Dom Warrens' left foot who then once again finished with style. This result leaves Harwich three points clear at the top ahead of second place Long Melford with half the season gone. Next week see the boys travelling to Felixstowe & Walton in the league
