FELIXSTOWE & WALTON 4
HARWICH & PARKESTON 3 aet
23 October 2007
Robbie May made several changes for tonight's game, Martin Calver going into
the back four and both the Chatters brothers coming back into the side with
Morley and Bloss in central midfield. Harwich kicked off and setting the pace
it was clear that Harwich were not going to roll over like the last
time we played Felixstowe a few weeks ago.
Bloss and Morley were controlling midfield, it was not long before Harwich
took the lead in 24th minute when Scott Page scored his first goal for Harwich
when he drilled the ball past the home keeper. Harwich just controlled
the game with some great team work and it was not long before Harwich were
two up with another goal from Page in the 43rd minute. Felixstowe could not
break down the Harwich defence, Calver and Matson were outstanding, half
time 2-0
Second half kicked off with Harwich setting the same
pace again but could not put the ball in the back of the net. Felixstowe
made two changes and Harwich were made to pay for not scoring some clear cut
chances, in the 87th minute Felixstowe pulled one back and then levelled on 90
minutes so taking the game into extra time.
Two further goals from Felixstowe in the first half meant Calver was pushed
upfront to try and pull something back from this game, in the last few moments
of extra time Underwood at long last pulled one back for Harwich but it was to
late Felixstowe 4 -Harwich 3.
We must take some positives from this game at times Harwich really played some
great football with Underwood and Page playing some good football up front if
they can keep playing together they will be a force to be reckon with Morley &
Bloss combined well in midfield and Matson & Claver controlled central defence
come on you boys start believing in yourself and we will get there.
