BRANTHAM ATHLETIC U18s 1
HARWICH & PARKESTON U18s 1
23 October 2007

This was a much better performance from the Harwich 18's, after last weeks defeat at home to Brantham changes were made with Luke Randall making his debut at left back and Reece Harris returning on the left hand side of a 4 man midfield.  Harwich took the lead after 22 minutes the ball released down the right hand side after good midfield interplay the cross was met by the talented Dom Warren who's header nearly broke the back of the net. Brantham are a good well organised side, but over the 90 minutes were totally outplayed by Harwich, but good sides create chances and that's what Brantham done after 40 minutes a quick break saw the very dangerous Lawler grab the equaliser.

Second half was like a scene from the Alamo, the usually well organised Brantham team broke with the two sets of four that serves them well and played with all the team in the defending third, Harwich scored what looked to everyone in the ground with exception the linesman the winner Luke Good releasing the ball to Andy Hammett who cross was met by the Brantham defender when the ball came out Ollie Mann from 12 yards hit the back of the net, unfortunately the over zealous linesman gave Dom Warren who was no where near the action offside.
Wave after wave of attacks on the Brantham goal only resulted with the bar and posts taking a hammering from the left foot of Reece Harris.
Final score 1-1 with the honours even, but Harwich came away knowing that form had returned and looking forward to next weeks clash with F.C Clacton.
